flashBAC™ MT (Maximum Transduction) is the latest addition to the flashBAC™ family and is optimised for use as a BacMAM expression vector for mammalian cells. The viral backbone is based on flashBAC PRIME and carries a mutation in fp25 that enhances production of infectious budded virus, resulting in more efficient transduction of mammalian cells. This higher efficacy avoids the need to concentrate budded virus and reduces the volume of virus inoculum required to achieve the high multiplicity of transduction needed for high levels of gene expression, saving time and expense when using the BacMAM system.

flashBAC MT must be used with a compatible BacMAM transfer vector so that the target gene is under the control of a mammalian promoter (such as pOET6 or the pOET9 series). It must not be used for expression in insect cells, as the fp25 mutation negatively affects expression from the polh promoter.
